1. How did you get started with CrossFit?
I’ve always been active, but was slow to come around to CrossFit. We moved into the neighborhood in April and I just walked in one day and met Sean! Part of my motivation was wanting to find something indoors to get into for the coming winter (I’m originally from Florida).

4. What is your proudest CrossFit accomplishment so far?
Overall, just feeling more comfortable with Olympic lifting, which I had never done before. The weight I’m using is certainly nothing to brag about, but at least it’s starting to feel better! That, and consecutive double unders (although I can’t not go backwards while doing them)!
5. What is a goal you hope to accomplish in the next 3 months? 1 year?
Kipping pull ups! I’m so close, but apparently I have a learning disability in this area. In the next year, I’d like to properly squat and maybe even clean my body weight.
6. How has CrossFit affected your life so far?
It has been such a great thing for me…more than I expected. I love the structure, the other members, the challenges, and having someone around who tells you when you’re screwing up. I’m pushing 40, but honestly I feel stronger than I ever have. John, Sean, and Stephen you guys are awesome and have really set up a great place!
7. What is something about you that no one at WSCF knows?
I started my career in law enforcement at a sheriff’s office in Florida. I’m responsible for the agency’s first documented use of a taser. Long story, but the guy was naked. One of the probes landed in his scrotum and had to be surgically removed. The Dr. that removed it was the husband of my best friend.
8. Advice for someone considering WSCF?
Do it! There’s really not a single reason not to.
