How did you get started with CrossFit?
I started Crossfit in the spring of 2014 at a gym in Pittsburgh. I knew I was moving and thought it would be a great way to meet people after I moved so I figured I would give it a shot….

…great foresight on my part.

Favorite WOD and/or movement?
Helen and back squats

Least favorite WOD and/or movement?
Lateral bar hops

What is your proudest CrossFit accomplishment so far?
I got my first ring muscle up during the Open last year, that is probably my proudest moment.

What is a goal you hope to accomplish in the next 3 months? 1 year?
Near term, I have wanted to back squat twice my body weight since I started crossfit and I am pretty close. My biggest long term goat right now is handstand walks so I hope in a year I can confidently walk 50 ft on my hands.

How has CrossFit affected your life so far?
My whole life I have been on and off with fitness. I would do the typical gym sessions for 6 months at a time and then disappear. Chest day, back day and leg day got boring.  Now, the gym is basically a part of my daily routine. I eat healthier, am more mobile and even stand up straighter. I still sneak in a chest day or some curl pyramids on the weekends though…bro.

What is something about you that no one at WSCF knows?
I was born on 8/8/88…it is sad that the coolest thing about me, I had nothing to do with

Do you have any advice for someone considering WSCF?
Well if you are considering it, you obviously have interest for one reason or another. Whatever the reason, just go for it. Commit to yourself to do the month long on ramp program and the results will keep you coming back.

From the Coaches:
Chris puts in serious work every time he’s in class.  It’s definitely shown in what he’s achieved in his year at Wells Street.  Even with a new job that requires longer hours, he is still a regular at the box!  Thank you for helping to plan our social gatherings, keep up the great work!
