How did you get started with the BURN program?
I originally started with the 6-Week New You Challenge back in October 2016. Once it ended in November, I continued with the BURN class and haven’t stopped since.

What is your favorite WOD and/or movement?
The deadlift.

What is your least favorite WOD and/or movement?
Burpees.

What is your proudest BURN accomplishment so far?
Improving my pushups. I have always had weaker upper body strength, but I definitely feel stronger and more toned in the last couple of months.

What is a goal you hope to accomplish in the next 3 months? 1 year?
In 3 months I would like to lower my incline even more with my pushups. In the next one year, I would like to be able to do pull-ups on the bar.

How has the BURN program affected your life so far?
The BURN program has encouraged a healthy lifestyle. Along with a rigorous and complete workout, my diet has also improved immensely. The BURN program has helped me feel strength not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
What is something about you that no one at Wells Street CrossFit knows?
I am a very serious person throughout the day. The BURN class has created a great environment where I feel I am amongst family. It is pretty amazing how I am most relaxed and at peace during my workouts.

Do you have any advice for someone considering either CrossFit or BURN?
Do not miss a class, ever. If you miss one, make it a point to make it up. Once you incorporate the workouts in your daily life, your body will feel incomplete without them.

As self-appointed social chair for the BURN program what’s in the works over the next month?
My BURN class has become my gym family. They have seen me struggle, sweaty, and even collapse on the ground. It would be nice to move our relationships to outside the class as well. We are working on having a first get-together next week. Anyone will be welcome to join!

You are routinely about 3 minutes late or as we like to say, consistently inconsistent, what sort of things keep you busy that early in the morning?
Every morning I have a conversation with myself to go to class and not skip. Getting up early has been a struggle. I rather come to class a little bit late then not come at all. Maybe my goal in the next 3 months should be to make it on time for every class!
